STUDIO WONDERINGS AND WANDERINGS

Studio is a place for thinking and making sense of stuff: a place of study. Studio is playing with ideas, materials, words, and movement. My studio is times of wondering and wandering in playful lands of artistic explorations with people of all ages. Here's my travel log.

 

“Are you gonna see me flying now?”

This is what four-year-old Mikel asked as he welcomed visitors to our art exhibition a few months ago. He wanted to show them his artist statement, a video where he talks about himself as an artist and mentions his flying skills as well. This video was made available to visitors though Augmented Reality (AR), and Mikel was exited to share it.

I talked about Mikel's experiences with AR at the London International Conference on Education, where I presented a paper on using digital materials as curatorial tools with young children. You can read the full paper from the conference proceedings here:
